When I arrived here in March 1890,
my salary was $7800, & exchange was rather more than 3/1 per dollar: (I verified this at the Bank)
$7800 at 3/1 gives £1202.10.
At present my salary is $8400 (as Atty Genl)
which taken even at 2/ & allowing for
Exchange Compensation gives £1050.
In other words the sterling value
of my post is £152.10. less than when I arrived ten years ago.
I should like 1. E. to see this.
